I've been thinking a lot lately about the classes and the teachers at SUU that made the biggest difference in the time I have spent here.
Freshman Year:
-Political Science 1100. I learned from this class if you study hard in the beginning you won't have to take a final because your grade is already an A.
-Comm 1010. Matt Barton will always be your friend.
-Go to football games way early and sit on the front row. Its worth it.
-Susan Tait is the best math teacher you could ever have. She is super invested in her students. I saw her yesterday and she still remembered my name and gave me a hug since I just graduated. She was proud of me.
-Don't be afraid to take that job working at the library at 6AM. It will be a huge blessing for you.
-Be friends with the non trads. They make great friends!
-Take nutrition from Matt Schmidt. He is a great teacher.
Sophomore Year:
-Take popular music in America. Great class and you learn so much. You'll love it if you like music at all!
-News writing with Husselbee will be the hardest class you take in college. It will also be one of the classes you learn the most from.
-Brian Heuett was the best academic advisor a comm student could have asked for.
-Be a fan of the gymnastics team. They are great and the meets are a blast.
-Date a lot of people. Even get your heart broken.
-Make great friends that will be your friends for forever!
Junior Year:
-Get your dream campus job and never miss an athletic event all year.
-Don't be afraid to talk to the cute guy who opened the door for you. You never know what that one experience can turn in to.
-Live with your cousin. She will make one of the best roommates you have ever had.
-Take all of your hard reaming classes in your junior year.
-Keep a positive attitude in everything. People will like you better.
-Love the freshman you live with.
Senior Year:
-Take another dream campus job.
-Rekindle friendships with your high school friend before you move all over the country.
-Take horsemanship from Lee Wood.
-Take a beginning photography class and find a new hobby.
-Graduate with honors.
-Rekindle friendships with old roommates before graduation.
-The Alumni House staff will always have your back.
-Don't be afraid to take classes not in your major. You never know, you may like them and want to pick up a minor.
-Graduate with honors.
So this a really long wordy post but it is important to know what I have learned. There are so many people who have helped me get to where I am today. I don't regret a single day that I cam to SUU. The friends I have made, the memories shared, and the people have all shaped me into the person I am today. It wasn't always easy, but it was so so worth it. I have a college degree and a love of a school that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. The weirdest part of this post is realizing it is all over all ready.
Great post! I need to see you soon!
