An End To 2010

I am so lucky! I have the best people in my life anyone could ask for. The Holidays are a time of year that sure do help to reinforce that in all of us.

When I finally got some time off of work Jared and I jumped in the car and headed to Nephi for a few days. It snowed a ton so we made a snowman.

This is the five of us in front of our snowman. By the time Jared and I left three hours later the kids down the street had knocked our poor pathetic snowman down. I guess our snowman making skills are a little rusty.

I worked another day. Then Jared and I spent a day at his house. They had no snow at all. While in Loa, Jared taught me how to drive his old standard transmission truck. Unfortunately there is no picture of this great occurrence in my life. Trust me after fours years with a license this was the first good experience.

Merry Christmas! Santa found the Williams House. We were all very spoiled and enjoyed the time we spent together reliving the Christmas traditions we have had since as long as I can remember. I didn't take any pictures because dad was filming everything.

After Christmas I was lucky enough to spend time with the Hamilton's. We took a trip to Temple Square to see the lights. One of my most favorite things to do at Christmas time.

New Years Eve was spent in good old Cedar City. Jared's roommates, Jared and I made our own fun. We went out for pizza after the basketball game, played a board game, and ate treats. We even popped poppers on the steps to the porch right at midnight. It was one of my favorite New Years Eve's.

2010 was good to me. I had a lot of experiences that I was able to learn and grow from in this year. I took a spring break trip, was in a show choir, graduated from Institute, worked hard in school and over the summer, watched my sister graduate from high school, got my dream job, served as the Relief Society President, and lastly met a wonderful man who makes me so happy. All of these things have helped me learn and grow. I am so grateful for each of these experiences and the things I have learned. I look forward to 2011 and the opportunities it will bring!

Whirlwind December

What a crazy month it has been. Visiting family, finals, roommates moving out, and getting home for the holidays it is a miracle I have survived.

The weekend before finals Jared and I went home to his house in Loa. We had a wonderful time. I met pretty much the whole town in two trips to the grocery store. I even got to help cut down a Christmas Tree for the first time. I got to go hooding. It is like sledding, but you sit on an old car hood and the truck pulls you down the road. It was a lot of fun. I giggled the whole time.

Surprisingly enough finals were not too bad this year. I spent study day with some dear friends making chocolates for girls in our ward. Then the tests came and went. All the final papers were turned in and now I can say I have three semesters left!!! Hooray!

I made a cake to celebrate finals being over. We ate and enjoyed the feeling of relief that came. Then on Friday Asha, Jared, and I went out to dinner.... Well kinda. Jared's niece Josephine Savannah was born as we got to the restaurant so he left to be with his family. Asha and I continued on with the evening. We had a final girls night just the two of us before she moves to New York to be a nanny. We saw the movie Tangled.

I am really going to miss Asha when she is 2,000 miles away!

When everyone left I spent about two weeks in Cedar working. It was nice for the money, but at times really sad looking at how deserted the town was.

Christmas is a wonderful time of year. I am so grateful for the wonderful meaning behind Christmas. I am also grateful for the time I can spend with friends and family.

I Am Blessed

Whirl wind weeks come and go. By the time they are over it is nice to take a break and relax. Look back on the week and count your blessings.

First, My 20 PAGE research paper had it due date changed giving me four more days to work on. Second, I got my last speech of the semester written. Third, I took a day off of work. Fourth, what did I do on my day off of work? Went to the institute fall formal with Jared. It was a blast and a great way to relieve stress by having fun. Fifth, I had only one meeting on Sunday, which allowed me to get some other things done and catch up on sleep. Sixth, I talked to my sister Hannah on the phone for an hour. It was good to hear how her college experience is coming along. Seventh, I get to see my family tomorrow. Eighth, I was able to have my friend Jenny over for a little while. She abandoned me and went to USU. I love her to death! Ninth, I have had way more motivation this week than I have all semester. Tenth, I realized at church when they announced the angel tree just how spoiled I really am.

Thanksgiving is this week. Hopefully we all take the time to realize what this holiday is for.

The End is Fast Approaching

The end of the semester is about two weeks away. Everyone I know is trying to finish up this group project, write that 20 page paper, or study for the test that comes before the final. Not me... well I should be. Tonight I am taking a break from all of the final garbage. I am enjoying a relaxing night to myself. This is only because my darling boyfriend fits the description above.

So recently we have been up too a lot of fun. But now it is crunch time and the pressure is on. So we relieved it by shooting. Here are some pictures from this very eventful trip to to 2000 Flushes.

There will be more adventures to relieve stress as the semester ends. After all, we are college students with a very limited attention span.

The Hunting Widow: Week 2

This week has been a blast. I got to do a lot of different things. On Tuesday night I went spike elk hunting for the first time. It was more of a nice hike through the forest.

On Wednesday we went Tuachan and saw Tarzan the Stage Musical. It was amazing. The costumes were amazing. The actors did an excellent job of portraying the animal they were.

Thursday I had to work at an SUU Women's Soccer game. When the game was over, I went to dinner at the Pizza Factory with Susan, Jessica, and Mrs. Hamilton. I really enjoyed the girls night out with them.

On Friday I was reunited with my dear friends from last year. Jenny came down to visit from Utah State and Shae quit IHop. We went to Chili's just like tradition requires. It was fun to catch up with everything that is going on in each others loves.

It is SUU's homecoming this week. For some reason I am disconnected to the homecoming festivities and besides athletic events I have not attended anything else. I am ok with it though. I enjoy what I am doing and where life is taking me!

The Hunting Widow

It's that time of year again. You know the time of year when men pull out their guns and women become widows every weekend or evening for a short time. Well this is the point I am at in life.

An update for the week. I love fall. It is definitely my favorite season. So Jared and I went for a drive up Cedar Canyon. It had been really cold early in the week. The leaves had changed colors. We even ran into some snow, but it was so much fun!

So while I might be a hunting widow for all the weekends this month, I will be very ahead in my school work. I might even have time to give weekly updates!

Fall 2010

Fall 2010 has been great to me. I have had so many opportunities shot my way. In thee first few weeks that school was starting I learned dream job could become mine. I jumped at the chance to interview for it. It took a while before I heard back if I got it or not. I had almost given up hope when the call came letting me know I got the job. I would now be working with SUU athletics under the title of Promotions and Marketing Assistant. Ever since I was a freshman I have dreamed of having this job. Now it is mine and I love going to work more than I ever have. So what is my job? I am in charge of directing all of the activities and crowd entertainment that go on during a game when the game is in time out. It is stressful at times, but also great!



The next fabulous thing that has happened in the fall of 2010.... Drum Roll Please, I picked a career and I am sticking with it! I am going to be an event planner. I came to this choice as a result of one of my classes. I am in Event Management. The professor who teaches this class has had tons of experiences planning various events that I am not aloud to disclose. It was inspiring to me. Especially after the getting my job. Because of this class I had the opportunity to help plan, participate, and execute Thor's Thunder Classic. It is a golf tournament hosted by the President of the University to raise money for scholarships. This was a great day to learn all that really goes into event planning and management. I was on a huge high when I got back from this tournament. I know this is truly what I want to do.

As if this semester wasn't exciting enough I received a calling that has been changing my life. I am one of three relief society presidents in my student ward. It has been overwhelming and stressful and exciting as I have been learning and trying to figure out exactly what I am doing and how to serve the girls in my group. It is a challenge that I am up for!

Lastly, so these people don't feel left out. I have a great roommate who is also my cousin. We have had some crazy good times, eating out, chilling in the room, and anything else you can think of. It is wonderful to have her to do things with. I am so grateful for Vanessa. "Cause she's awesome!" I met a really great guy named Jared. He makes me really happy and we have a lot of fun together.
